The problem

Your AI Blind Spot

Your brand's mention rate in ChatGPT

You don't know. Your competitor doesn't either.

900 million people use ChatGPT every week. Many of them are looking for vendors like you. You don't know what ChatGPT tells them. Popsight does.

Screenshots Aren't Measurement

A screenshot is an anecdote, not data. Ask twice, get two different answers. Penn State researchers found AI models swing from 88% to 44% accuracy on identical inputs. Without a sample size, you're guessing.

AI Picks Favorites

ChatGPT names a few brands per answer and skips the rest. Penn State research shows only 11% domain overlap between ChatGPT and Perplexity recommendations. Every query is a prospect you can't see, and a sale you might lose.

That's why we built Popsight.

The two questions Popsight answers

Turn the blind spot into a number. Then turn the number into a fix.

First, measure what AI says about you.

One screenshot is random chance. Popsight samples 20 times per provider and shows how often you're actually mentioned. Weekly tracking makes the data even more reliable: after two months you have numbers you can trust.

Popsight Competitive presence card: the brand ranks #4 of 4 with 30.5% qualified presence and an 8.6% share of mentions versus Shopify, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce

Then it asks why.

Popsight bot access table testing 21 AI crawlers against your site's robots.txt rules, with allowed and blocked statuses per crawler

Then, find the technical reasons AI is skipping you.

Popsight tests your site against the signals AI crawlers evaluate: robots.txt rules, consent banners, schema markup, and CDN blocks. Over 50 checkpoints. A TopFix callout shows the most important issue to tackle first.

What You Can Measure

AI visibility analytics built for statistical rigor. Princeton research (KDD 2024) shows citing sources can lift visibility up to 115%.

Brand Presence

See if AI recommends you. Or your competitors.

Find out if ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity mention your brand. See which queries send traffic to competitors instead. Visibility KPIs only count unbranded prompts, so the rate reflects real discovery.

  • Know which prompts surface your brand, with a 95% Wilson Score interval on every rate
  • See when competitors get recommended instead, then track the shift week over week
  • Promote any untracked brand the LLMs mention into your competitor set with one click
Popsight Share of Voice view: 8.6% mention share, 4.8% citation share, and 8.3% first position with confidence ranges, plus a head-to-head bar chart against Shopify, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce
Popsight Observed Actors panel listing untracked competitor brands AI products mentioned in your category, ready to promote into your tracked competitor set
Competitive Intel

See who else AI recommends.

AI doesn't recommend everyone equally. Compare mention rates head-to-head, watch your share of voice over time, and let Popsight surface untracked competitors automatically when AI products start citing them in your category.

  • Compare mention rates head-to-head with statistically valid intervals, not single-screenshot vibes
  • See which brands AI favors by query type (informational, comparison, product, pricing)
  • Discover untracked rivals automatically; reference domains (Wikipedia, GitHub, Reddit) are filtered out
Why statistics matter

"AI answers change every time." That's the point.

Critics say AI responses vary too much to track. They're right. That's why you need statistics, not screenshots. Popsight samples multiple times and shows you the range: "Claude mentioned us once" becomes "mentioned 73% of the time, give or take 5%". Now you can tell real trends from random noise.

  • See if a 5% shift is real or noise, with a measured Wilson Score interval on every metric
  • Know when you have enough data: each metric carries a robust / adequate / minimal validity badge
  • Run at temperature 0? Popsight detects it and suppresses the interval cleanly. Other tools display it anyway.

Your queries, your data

No middleman. No markup.

Popsight talks directly to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Perplexity from your machine. Nothing routes through our servers. You see exactly what you spend, per provider, per run.

  • Pay provider rates, not SaaS markup. Roughly $0.50 to $2 per analysis with cost-efficient models
  • All four providers in one Settings panel, with model choice and a per-provider budget cap
  • Runs entirely on your desktop. Cost estimate before every run; default $10 budget cap
AI Readiness scan

Find why ChatGPT doesn't quote you.

A site scan that runs the same checks an AI crawler does. 50+ findings across four scoring buckets, one TopFix callout for the single most important fix, and a markdown brief your engineering team can paste straight into a PR.

  • 50+ findings across Crawler Access (40%), Renderability (30%), Tech Hygiene (20%), Structured Data (10%)
  • TopFix callout: highest-impact unresolved issue first, with what / why / how-to-fix
  • Multi-page crawl with citation-seeded sampling: pages AI products already cite go to the front of the queue
  • One-click dev-brief markdown export with severity emojis. Paste into Slack, Linear, Notion, or a PR
Popsight AI Readiness scan: a 72-out-of-100 score with 2 critical issues, a Fix First callout pointing to a blocked Applebot, and the AI Bot Access row showing Applebot blocked from the site
Popsight Insights view: four headline metrics with deltas, 7 critical and 16 warning issues found, and an expanded Quick Win flagging three competitors that dominate an SEO topic with a Suggested Action card
Quick Wins · Observed Actors · Citation Health

Action, not just observation.

Every Popsight run ends with deterministic insights, no extra LLM calls, no extra cost. Quick Wins highlight the prompts that matter; Observed Actors surface competitors you didn't know to track; the Citation Health agent HTTP-checks every URL LLMs cite from your domain.

  • Quick Wins: post-run insights ranked by severity (citation gaps, high volatility, "present but never first") at zero added LLM cost
  • Observed Actors: discover untracked competitors automatically. Reference domains (Wikipedia, GitHub, Reddit, arxiv) auto-filtered
  • Citation Health: every URL an LLM cites from your domain gets HTTP-checked for noindex, nosnippet, broken redirects, stale year mentions
Trusted by marketing teams
We compared the cloud-based alternatives. Popsight delivers the same insights, but our brand data never leaves the building. Costs stay transparent and there are no monthly fees. For a team running sensitive brand analyses, that matters.

Common questions

Before You Download

How many responses do I need for reliable results?

Popsight runs 20 samples per prompt, per provider. In polling terms, that is a credible-interval snapshot of how AI is answering right now, accurate to about ±20 points with 95% confidence.

Weekly tracking compounds: by month two you have 80 samples per prompt and roughly ±10-point precision, the same statistical density as a published opinion poll. The math behind that number is Wilson Score confidence intervals, which stay stable at small sample sizes and at extreme rates (brands that show up near 0% or 100% of the time).

Every metric in Popsight includes a validity indicator (robust, adequate, or minimal) so you always know what you are looking at. Need sharper numbers on day one? Run more samples per prompt. Each sample is roughly $0.50 to $2 in provider fees, paid directly at their rates.

How much does each analysis cost?

A typical analysis runs 20 samples across your prompts. With cost-efficient models like Gemini Flash or GPT-5 Nano, that's roughly $0.50-$1 per run. Mid-range models like Claude Sonnet or GPT-4o Mini cost $1-$2. Deep audits with 50+ samples and premium models can run $4-8, but most users don't need them for regular tracking.

The good news: for tracking brand visibility trends, smaller models produce statistically comparable results at 10-20x lower cost. You don't need the most expensive model to detect whether your brand is being mentioned more or less over time.

Popsight shows you the estimated cost before every run and enforces budget caps (default $10) so you're never surprised. You pay providers directly at their published rates. Zero markup from us.

Do I need accounts with every AI provider?

No. One provider is enough to start. Most users begin with OpenAI since it's the most common. You can add Anthropic, Google, or Perplexity anytime to compare how different AI systems describe your brand.

Each provider reveals different patterns. ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini don't recommend the same brands for the same queries, so multi-provider analysis gets more valuable over time. But one connection gets you running in minutes.

How do I connect to AI providers?

You create a free account on a provider's website (like openai.com), copy a connection code from your account settings, and paste it into Popsight. The app shows you exactly where to go with step-by-step instructions. The whole process takes about 2 minutes per provider.

What happens to my data if I don't renew?

Your data stays on your machine. Popsight stores everything locally in a database you own: projects, results, reports, and full response archives. You can export your data anytime as CSV or PDF.

An expired license switches to read-only mode. You can still view and export everything. Your data is never deleted, locked, or held hostage.

What is an AI Readiness score and what counts as a good one?

The AI Readiness score is a weighted roll-up of 50+ findings across four buckets: Crawler Access (40%), Renderability (30%), Tech Hygiene (20%), and Structured Data (10%). Crawler Access weighs heaviest because if AI bots cannot reach your pages, nothing else matters. Each finding carries a severity (info, warn, fail) and an explicit what / why / how-to-fix.

A "good" score depends on the highest-impact issue, not the average. That's why Popsight surfaces a TopFix callout: the single highest-priority unresolved finding. Fixing the TopFix usually moves the needle more than fixing five lower-severity items. Most sites enter at 50 to 70 on a first scan and reach 85+ after the TopFix and two or three other warnings are cleared.

How does Popsight detect cookie banners that block AI crawlers?

Popsight ships fingerprints for 21 consent-management platforms (OneTrust, Cookiebot, Usercentrics, Didomi, TrustArc, Sourcepoint, Quantcast, Iubenda, Termly, CookieYes, Osano, Klaro, CookieScript, Tarte au Citron, CookieFirst, Civic UK, Complianz, CookieHub, Orejime, vanilla-cookieconsent, GDPR Cookie Consent). Each fingerprint uses multi-signal corroboration: a high-confidence URL or two distinct signal types must match before Popsight identifies a banner.

Detection alone isn't the point. Popsight then fetches your homepage twice in parallel, once as Chrome and once as GPTBot, and compares visible text length. If GPTBot sees less than 30% of what Chrome sees, Popsight emits a "consent wall suppression" finding, because that's the threshold where a banner is hiding so much body content that AI crawlers can't index your page meaningfully. The fix is a CMP-level whitelist for GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and Google-Extended.

Can I export findings to my engineering team?

Yes. Every AI Readiness scan produces a one-click markdown brief: severity emojis, per-finding what / why / how-to-fix, code snippets where the fix is a code change, and per-page evidence. Paste it into Slack, Linear, Notion, GitHub, or a pull-request description and your engineers see exactly what to do. The brief is English-only by design, because it's a developer artifact your CI tooling and PR templates already speak.

If you'd rather hand a consultant the whole audit, the audit-bundle export ships full run state (results, metrics, prompts, model config, mention orders) as a portable file you can share without giving up your API keys.
